The presented article is of scientific and practical interest, given the high frequency of occurrence of such somatic pathology as epilepsy among pregnant women. Despite the old problem, starting from the time of Hippocrates many questions of etiopathogenesis remain to the end unresolved. Many theories about the occurrence of epilepsy in women, including pregnant women, are explained by the polyetiology of this disease. It should be noted that currently the prevailing theories are: ionic (canalopathy), genetic predisposition, autoimmune and others. The issues of the triggers of convulsive syndrome in pregnant women with epilepsy are not fully resolved. The quality of life, the level of virtual pain (which is very important for pregnant women and women in labor), the level and ratio of macro and microelements in the body are not fully understood. The issues of generally accessible functional methods for the diagnosis of epilepsy in pregnant women are also considered.
