A modern obstetrician-gynecologist often encounters one of the problems – the correction of negative changes occurring in the female body in the perimenopausal period. The article describes modern approach to the correction of menopausal disorders with a help of using intrauterine levonorgestrel system. The authors highlighted contemporary statistic data on the number of female population and the abortion rate by age groups in the Republic of Belarus, contemporary data on using intrauterine levonorgestrel system as a method of contraception and as a part of menopause hormone therapy. The use of natural estrogens in combination with the intrauterine system with levonorgestrel as part of menopausal hormone therapy for patients at risk is the optimal solution.
