Actual problems of modern pediatric dentistry is the treatment of dental caries in children. The high prevalence and intensity of caries in children with high levels of anxiety to dental treatment demonstrate the need to take into account features of the clinical situation, the degree of mineralization of hard tissue of teeth, material properties, as well as the child’s age, his emotional, mental state, and the child’s readiness to cooperate. The study of clinical efficacy glassionomer cement for the treatment of temporary teeth in children have shown that the material has good adhesion, high moisture resistance, sufficient strength, good mineralizing effect and the absence of toxicity, as well as helping to adapt the child with a high level of anxiety to dental manipulation, convenient, easy in operation and durable. The most significant advantages of glass ionomer – chemical adhesion to the hard tissues of the tooth and the capacity for sustained release of fluoride ions, opening up new opportunities in pediatric dentistry.
