Vitamin D deficiency: environmental risk factors and natural prevention
Sunlight is essential for vitamin D synthesis in the skin. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can be hazardous, however, because excessive exposure causes skin cancer and other adverse health effects. Skin cancer is a major public health problem. The article contains review about the environmental risk factors of Vitamin D deficiency and suggest strategies for its prevention for children.
