According to the results of a retrospective analysis of the medical records of 1699 patients with burns, it was found that the proportion of victims on Saturday (19.3 ± 0.9 %) was 1.3–1.6 times higher than on other days (from 11.8 ± 0.8 % to 14.4 ± 0.9 %), equally among both men and women. The leading injuring agents were hot liquids (44.3–53.4 %) and flames (27.2–36.9 %). The daily relative numbers of people injured by contact with hot solid objects, chemicals, and electric shocks differed insignificantly and, in most cases, did not go beyond the statistical error. Among the victims on Saturday, there were more people with burns of IIIA and IIIB degrees, caused in 45–53 % of cases by hot liquid, less often by flames (28–36 %). In persons with grade IV burns, the injury was caused mainly by flames (52.8 ± 2.8 %), less often from contact with hard hot objects (21.1 ± 2.3 %) and hot liquids (13.1 ± 1.9 %).
