The article analyzes the relationship between the heart rate variability indices and the polysomnography in the patients with an obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. It has been established that the apneahypopnea index has a direct dependence on the stress index and an inverse relationship to the index characterizing parasympathetic activity. Thus, when predicting the presence of an obstructive sleep apnea syndrome on the parameters of the heart rate variability, these indicators can be used. The number of the episodes of the obstructive sleep apnea is statistically significantly related to the power of the sympathetic contour an autonomic regulation. At the same time, the average duration and the average level of the desaturation are related to the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system.
