The surgical method is the main one in the treatment of injuries of the distal tendon of the biceps among young active patients. To date, however, there is no single optimal surgical recovery technique. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed minimally invasive surgical method for restoring the distal tendon of the biceps of the shoulder from anterior approach. In total, 139 patients were included in the study, 74 of whom were operated on using standard techniques (control group), and 65 were operated on the developed method (main group). Comparable study groups were formed using the PS Matching algorithm. Statistically significant differences were obtained in the study groups according to the analyzed criteria. The hospitalization for the patients of the main group was the average value (median, min-max) of 5.8 days (6, from 1 to 15 days), while for the control group – 9.5 days (8, from 4 to 24 days). The application of the developed method allowed to reduce the time of operation and the size of operational accesses. In this group, the median (min-max) of the operation time was 30 minutes (from 20 to 60 minutes), and the size of the surgical accesses was 3 cm (2 to 6 cm). Moreover, in the control group, these values respectively amounted to 60 minutes (from 30 to 100 minutes) and 9 cm (from 2 to 17 cm). As a result of the postoperative period, recovery is faster among patients who were treated by developed method. The recovery period duration in the main group equaled 2.3 weeks, being the average value (median, min-max) 2,3 weeks (2, from 2 to 6 weeks) while for the control group – 5,0 weeks (from 2 to 8 weeks).
