Community -acquired pneumonia. Difficulties of diagnostic and assessment of the their severity
Community-acquired pneumonia is the most common pathology of the lower respiratory tract, accompanied by a high mortality rate. Severe course of the disease is often associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae. However, the identification of the causative agent is difficult, and the treatment of the community-acquired pneumonia remains empirical, and therefore not always effective. It is not always possible to diagnose the pneumonia in all cases, particularly in elderly patients. It requires radiographic evidence of inflammation.
