Locked antibiotic-eluting nailing in patients with infected tibial non-unions
Despite the successes of modern orthopaedic surgery, infected nonunions continue to be serious complications after diaphyseal fractures of lower extremity long bones. Interlocking nail with antibacterial coating fills the dead space, pro-vides good mechanical stability of bone fragments and potentially high local con-centration of antibiotics.
