We can witness a noticeable growth in the number of people with weigh gain and obesity over the last 2 decades. According to WHO, such number will have increased up to 1,5 billion by 2015. Overweight may be triggered by lots of factors. Heredity, chronic stress, wrong diet and eating behavior and low physical activity are at the top of the list. Insufficient awareness of population for the serious consequences of overweight is aggravating factor. This review summarizes the experience of some foreign medical and scientific centers concerning non-medicinal prevention of overweight and obesity. It discussed the necessity of preventive measures during all individual life, beginning from a very early or even prenatal age. At any ageit is important tolose weight gain slowly and, having reached the target level, not to put it on.
